In the midst of 800 people gathered for the first ever Western Canadian Liveloud concert at the University of Calgary, Jesus had revealed himself so personally and intimately to me. This concert was the very first session of the conference and it highlighted 3 hours worth of songs written by CFC-Youth members from all over the world, stories about Jesus from band member and Mission Volunteer, Anton Brosas, and touching shares of God’s victories in the lives of two CFC-Youth members, Arden Medina and Francis Colcol.

But the night also consisted of a very moving moment where a family representing the Couples for Christ Family Ministries of Kids for Christ (Jak-Jak Fournier), CFC-Youth (Geve Fournier) and Couples for Christ (Tito George Fournier), came onstage to sing a worship song together. Witnessing this tender segment of the concert made a huge impact on me. Not only was the moment so beautiful and stirring for me, but also very personal.

When Geve Fournier came onto the stage to sing with his little brother Jak-Jak, I truly saw Christ in him. It was so personal for me because I served Geve ever since he was apart of Kids for Christ, and then would later serve alongside him as part of the Kids For Christ core team, and again in the South Chapter. I have always viewed Geve as my own little brother and have seen him grow up so much. So once he finished singing and exited back into the crowd, I noticed that he was heading in my direction. I couldn’t help but pull him aside to hug him and tell him how inspired I was of his witness. I told him the truth that I saw Jesus in him. He just embraced me until I was overcome with emotion.

The next thing I can recall was that I was on my knees worshiping in a way I have never done so before. It was as if Jesus himself had just embraced me and my own body didn’t know how to react to such love. And that was okay because it seemed like Jesus had done the exact same thing to everyone else in the room. He came down and revealed himself so intimately and personally to everyone that they too had to take their own posture of worship. Whatever that may be. Maybe in the hands raised, or the tears shed, or the knees bent, Jesus came down that night and gave us all a glimpse of heaven.

It is without question that on a night where 800+ gathered together to see Jesus, He responded back and exposed himself to every single one of us.
